Scholarship

The 2026 application window is now CLOSED! The Mall at Bay Plaza and the Bronx Entrepreneurship Scholarship Foundation are proud to support Bronx students with scholarships of $3,000 annually, up to $12,000 over four consecutive years. Stay tuned for information about the 2027 scholarship opportunity and your chance to turn your college and entrepreneurial dreams into reality!

Purpose

To award scholarships to college-bound high school seniors based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need, and an express interest in entrepreneurship and/or business.

Criteria

The students eligible for assistance must be Bronx residents and must be graduating high school seniors who have been accepted into an accredited four-year college or university with a 3.0 or higher grade-point average. Consideration will be given to academic achievement, financial need, the student’s community service record, and recommendations from teachers, guidance counselors, and/or principals.

Students should submit a transcript and a one-page essay explaining “Why Entrepreneurship is Important to You” to Apply@BronxESFC.com

Guidelines

Scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis. The scholarship will be disbursed to the student’s college/university’s bursar office in August. Students must continue to attend classes and maintain no lower than a 3.0 grade-point average (or equivalent).

• Osaza Okungbowa
• Graduating from The Laboratory School of Finance and Technology with a 4.0 and will be attending Cornell University this fall. At Cornell, he plans on double majoring in Applied Economics and Management. Originally, he was just focused on the science part of the environment, but through further research he understands that finance and money play a big role in the well-being of the environment.
• Alexangel Ventura
• Graduate of Fordham Preparatory School, utilizes his love of systems, history, and economics into teaching financial & civic literacy to Bronx middle school students, co-leading his high school’s Finance Club, and founding The Daily Drop, where he publishes simple news articles, among other endeavors. This fall, he will study at Cornell University, where he will major in Applied Economics and Management in the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at the SC Johnson College of Business. He hopes to pursue a career in financial services, while also leading entrepreneurial ventures that leverage media and technology to reach and empower others. 
• Felicia White
• Graduate of Bronxdale High School in the Bronx, New York — enjoys spending time with family and friends, volunteering in her community, and cheering. A dedicated Girl Scout and NCNW Co-op City Youth Section member, she is passionate about service and making a positive impact on those around her. This fall, Felicia will attend North Carolina A&T State University, where she will study Animal Sciences. After college, she hopes to become a veterinarian and work in wildlife conservation, helping to protect and care for animals around the world.
