Making Strides Against Breast Cancer kicks off fundraising season
BAYCHESTER -
Nearly 600 breast cancer survivors, caregivers, volunteers, and sponsors joined together with the American Cancer Society at The Mall at Bay Plaza to talk about awareness, research and funding.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is celebrating 15 years in the borough. Tuesday’s gathering kicked off its fundraising season.
This year's Making Strides walk is taking place at Orchard Beach on Oct. 21.
Last year, 10,000 Bronx residents raised about $575,000. This year’s goal is $600,000.
